On Sony Tv’s Indian Idol 13, Rani Mukerji reveals how she was inspired by Amir Khan when filming Ghulam and says, “When it comes to work, there can be no excuses.”

This Sunday, Sony Entertainment Television’sprestigious singing reality show, ‘Indian Idol – Season 13’ will be ‘Celebrating Rani Mukerji’. Lightening up the atmosphere on the sets, the ‘Dream Finale’ episode will not only see Rani Mukerji promote her movie ‘Mrs Chatterjee Vs Norway’ but she will also enjoy the energetic performances by the Top 7 contestants. Also, joining the judges panel alongside Himesh Reshammiya will be Bollywood’s evergreen singer, Udit Narayan.

‘Bengali Beauty’ Senjuti Das from Kolkata owns the stage by giving a marvelous performance on the song ‘Jadoo Hai Tera’ from the film ‘Ghulam’ and ‘Aga Bai’ from the film ‘Aiyyaa.’ While Senjuti wins mighty compliments for her performance, Rani Mukerji will be seen revealing interesting anecdotes from her time filming Ghulam and said “When you started singing the song from ‘Ghulam’, I had flashbacks because when I started filming for ‘Ghulam,’ I was only 17 years old. Amir Khan who is one of India’s biggest stars was opposite me. I very well remember that were shooting in Manali for the song and Amir was down with high fever. Around that time, I had witnessed the dedication of an artist who continued to work even with fever. So for me as a newcomer, it was an admirable quality about my co-star and following his footsteps, I kept growing in life. When it comes to work, there can be no excuses. Work is most important. I have also heard how independent you are, you also take care of your parents and you have come this far on your own. I pray that all your hard work gets fulfilled by winning the winning trophy of Indian Idol.”

Appreciating Senjuti’s performance, Rani Mukerji also said, “I would only say that Senjuti, you have an excellent range in your voice. Both, Jadoo Hai Tera’ and ‘Aga Bai’ are different in their own way, and I’d like to add that the composition of one song was done by Jatin-Lalit and the other by Amit Trivedi. Both the albums, Ghulam and Aiyyaa are my favorite albums. But the way you started singing ‘Aga Bai’ which is a very difficult song… just amazing! I am very sure you are going to be a playback singer. You have a very strong and clear voice.”

While Rani Mukerji and Udit Narayan promise to be entertaining in this special episode, what’s even more exhilarating is the reveal of the grand trophy.
