Neela Film Productions Private Limited – the creators of India’s much loved comedy show ‘Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’ (TMKOC) also the world’s longest running daily comedy TV show is ramping up efforts to capitalize on its flagship brand’s popularity. Introduction of the show’s animated version titled – Taarak Mehta Kka Chhota Chashmah (TMKCC) is a step in the direction which will be followed by the launch of some very exciting merchandise for children. TMKCC will be aired on Sony Yay from 19th April, 2021 with all of Gokuldhaam Society’s characters in their hyperbolic comic avatars.
The animated version, like the original show promises great family entertainment with rib-tickling, slapstick comedy and learning for viewers especially, for children.
“It was my vision and an old dream to create an animated series based on Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s characters. Animation not only allows for larger-than-life comedy but also offers creative freedom. Close to 13 years now, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah has made people laugh through relatable comedy that is enjoyed by families that watch TV together. The animated version will attempt to do just that but with more hyperbole.

Taarak Mehta Kka Chhota Chashmah is our first step in this direction which will be followed by a host of other ventures including the launch of an all exclusive line of TMKCC merchandise. While Sony Yay will telecast the episodes, Neela Film Productions Private limited will retain the Licensing & Merchandising and advertising rights for the format and its characters. The production house plans to explore the brand’s universe and the characters’ appeal with advertiser funded content, gaming and live events,” concludes Mr. Modi.
Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah and its characters have a fan base across age groups and social strata. Memes based on the show have been in use on social media for many years now. TMKOC is billed as the world’s longest running daily comedy show and most of its characters are household names in India and many other countries. First aired in 2008, the show is running in its 13th year with upwards of 3100 episodes.
