Maharashtra Tourism Engages Delhi Travel Trade at Grand Roadshow in the Capital

The Directorate of Tourism, Government of Maharashtra, successfully hosted the Maharashtra Tourism Roadshow at the Grand Ballroom of Radisson Blu Hotel, Dwarka, drawing an impressive turnout from the Delhi travel trade, media professionals, and travel influencers.

The Maharashtra delegation was led by Shri Santosh Jadhav, Joint Director, Directorate of Tourism; Shri Chandrashekhar Jaiswal, General Manager of Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation (MTDC); and Shri Vijay Jadhav, Deputy Director, Directorate of Tourism. The delegation brought together a broad spectrum of tourism stakeholders, including hoteliers, tour operators, heritage site managers, adventure tourism operators, and destination management experts. The objective was to present Maharashtra’s diverse tourism portfolio and explore collaborative business opportunities with the Delhi market.

The evening commenced with vibrant cultural performances celebrating Maharashtra’s rich traditions. This was followed by detailed presentations highlighting the state’s wide-ranging tourism experiences — from historic forts and spiritual circuits to wildlife sanctuaries, pristine beaches, coastal retreats, and dynamic urban destinations. The roadshow also facilitated structured B2B interactions between Maharashtra-based stakeholders and members of the Delhi travel fraternity, encouraging meaningful business discussions and strengthening industry partnerships.

Addressing the gathering, Shri Santosh Jadhav emphasized Delhi’s importance as a key source market and reaffirmed the state’s commitment to strengthening engagement with travel partners. He highlighted Maharashtra’s unique blend of heritage, spirituality, nature, adventure, and urban experiences, underscoring the need for collaborative promotion strategies.

Shri Chandrashekhar Jaiswal noted that focused roadshows help establish direct connections between tourism suppliers and travel trade professionals. He observed that the enthusiastic response reflected growing interest in Maharashtra as a year-round destination and expressed optimism about translating the discussions into long-term business collaborations.

Shri Vijay Jadhav reiterated the Directorate’s objective of actively engaging with major domestic markets and showcasing Maharashtra’s evolving tourism landscape. The encouraging participation from travel trade representatives, media, and influencers, he said, reinforces the state’s efforts to position itself as a preferred destination for diverse traveler segments.

The programme concluded with a networking dinner, providing an ideal platform for continued dialogue and relationship building. The successful roadshow highlighted Maharashtra Tourism’s sustained efforts to expand domestic outreach, enhance destination visibility, and build enduring partnerships across India’s travel and hospitality industry.
