Birthdays are best spent in the company of family and friends! But in recent times, celebrating birthdays has become a sombre and home affair. However, Ashish Kadian, Indresh of &TV’s Santoshi Maa Sunaye Vrat Kathayein, does not like to go by the rule book. His birthday sentiments are much like his personality, reserved and caring. Ashish feels that one should be grateful to have a working birthday when several people around you have lost jobs.
He shares, “Times are tough, and in retrospect, people have become tougher. I feel grateful to be in a position where I have work to attend. Having the means to support my family, being surrounded by a great support system and having good health is all that I wish for this birthday. A working birthday is a birthday better than large celebrations any day indeed! I am not a very outgoing person, and everyone in my family – on-screen and off-screen who know that about me very well. One is my family at home, and the other is on the sets.
I am glad to be spending this special day with both of them. Being a part of Santoshi Maa Sunaye Vrat Kathayein has given me all the love and support from the viewers. I want to thank everyone for their lovely and heart-warming wishes.” Talking about his birthday traditions, Ashish says, “It is not set in stone, but I do start my day off with a prayer and a Katori of my mother’s homemade kheer. This year too, I will be praying. Not just for myself and my family but also for families that have been gravely affected with this pandemic.”
